The Pin Cherry is a member of the rose family and is native reaching into the far north of Canada. The bark of young trees often has a distinctive metallic sheen and the plant produces small, bright red fruit containing a single seed in August suitable for preserves. Pin Cherry has a shallow root system and prefers full sun.
